The Rolex Sea-Dweller reference 16600 is one of the most respected modern tool watches ever produced, blending professional-grade dive capability with timeless Rolex design. Built from stainless steel and featuring the iconic 40mm Oyster case with helium escape valve, the 16600 was engineered for serious saturation diving with an impressive depth rating of 4,000 feet (1,220 meters). Its clean black dial with luminous markers and hands provides outstanding legibility, while the unidirectional rotating bezel allows for precise dive timing functionality.
Powering the watch is the legendary Rolex Caliber 3135 automatic movement, celebrated for its durability, reliability, and precision. Paired with the robust Oyster bracelet, the Sea-Dweller 16600 remains one of the most collectible five-digit Rolex sports models, appreciated for its clean proportions, no-cyclops crystal, and true tool-watch heritage.
Today’s example is offered in excellent pre-owned condition and comes complete with its original punched papers dated 1/27/2001, tags, inner and outer boxes, some booklets, and accessories. This example was also serviced by Rolex on 7/12/12 and includes its RSC service card. The case remains thick with sharp chamfers still visible, showcasing strong overall preservation. The Solid End Link Oyster bracelet is fully linked and shows only minimal stretch.
A beautifully preserved and highly complete example of one of Rolex’s most iconic professional dive watches.
